During the National Day holiday, excitement filled the air in Hejin City as the 2024 Hejin “Agricultural Commercial Bank Cup” National Automobile and Motorcycle Off-Road Challenge took place at the International Racing Town in Xiaoliang Township, Shanxi Province. This high-energy event drew a crowd of racing enthusiasts from all over.

Supervised by the China Motorsports Federation and co-hosted by the Hejin Municipal Committee, the Hejin People’s Government, and the Sports Bureau of Yuncheng City, the competition featured over 60 motorcycle racers and more than 80 car drivers from over 20 provinces, along with participants from Thailand.

As the race unfolded, top competitors demonstrated their exceptional skills and determination, seamlessly navigating the challenging course. Each acceleration and drift offered incredible displays of speed and technique, captivating the audience and creating a thrilling atmosphere.

This event was more than just a showcase of athletic prowess; it represented a significant initiative for Hejin City to blend sports, culture, and tourism. By capitalizing on the appeal and economic benefits of sporting events, Hejin aims to enhance its cultural tourism sector and event economy.

Deputy Mayor Fang Wubin shared, “Our goal with this event is to build friendships through competition, promote tourism, and stimulate industry by integrating agriculture, culture, sports, and tourism. We envision Hejin becoming a racing and motorsports paradise, a center for cultural and agricultural collaboration, and a memorable event that stands out across the province and the nation. We want this to be a celebration for the community—a signature event for Hejin.”

The vibrant challenge has given a new boost to the local cultural tourism scene. Xiaoliang racing culture town, a central venue for the event, is focusing on its branding as “Beautiful Xiaoliang, Racing Paradise.” Plans are underway to develop three major racing facilities for automobiles, motorcycles, and bicycles.

This town is set to become a multifunctional sports and leisure resort, offering everything from racing events to dining, accommodations, wellness services, and agricultural experiences. Off-road enthusiasts and tourists will have the chance to drive professional-grade off-road vehicles—think go-karts, UTVs, and ATVs—or ride balance bikes, motorcycles, and specialized off-road bikes to fully embrace the thrill of speed.

Moreover, the town intends to hold regular training sessions for automobile and motorcycle racers, along with monthly point-based competitions. This initiative will not only allow racers from various regions to experience different motorsport activities but also draw racing fans nationwide, invigorating local consumption and fostering the organized, sustainable growth of motorsport in the area.
