Mexico’s new president says bilateral relations between Mexico and China are “very good” China responds
At a press conference in Beijing on October 21, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian addressed questions regarding Mexico’s new president, Claudia Sheinbaum. A reporter posed the question about Sheinbaum’s recent comments during a press briefing in Mexico City, where she expressed that the relationship between Mexico and China in trade, culture, and other areas is “very good.” The reporter inquired about China’s response and expectations for the future of Sino-Mexican relations under the new government.
In response, Lin Jian stated, “China and Mexico are good friends based on mutual trust, and we are strong partners in joint development. In recent years, the strategic, complementary, and mutually beneficial nature of our relationship has become increasingly evident, and we have achieved substantial results in practical cooperation that significantly enhance the well-being of our peoples.”
Lin added that China wishes for and believes that under President Sheinbaum’s leadership, Mexico will continue to achieve greater advancement along its independent development path. He emphasized that China values its relationship with Mexico and looks forward to strengthening exchanges across various fields, actively promoting practical cooperation, and continuously enriching the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations, ultimately benefiting both peoples.
