During the National Day holiday, more than 307,000 people entered and exited the Guangzhou Immigration Inspection Station.
On October 8, the Guangzhou Port Supervision Headquarters shared some exciting updates regarding traffic during this year’s National Day holiday. According to their announcement, the ports under their jurisdiction recorded over 307,000 entries and exits, which represents an impressive increase of about 44.5% compared to the same time last year. On average, daily traffic at these ports exceeded 44,000 people.
Notably, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport was a significant contributor to these figures, accounting for more than 281,000 of the entries and exits, with daily passenger flow surpassing 40,000. Additionally, maritime passenger terminals, including Nansha Port, Dongguan Humen, Shunde, and the Pazhou Macao Passenger Terminal, reported around 18,000 entries and exits.
As the 136th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, approaches and the trend of “China Travel” continues to grow in popularity, the Baiyun Border Inspection Station processed nearly 70,000 inbound foreign visitors during the holiday season. They also issued around 1,000 temporary entry permits for 24/144-hour transit without a visa, aimed at boosting passenger flow in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and converting traffic into economic opportunities.
To ensure smooth interactions between domestic and international travelers while maintaining safety and order, the Guangzhou Border Inspection Headquarters established multilingual volunteer service teams throughout the National Day holiday. These teams provided emergency translation and policy consultation at various ports, focusing on streamlining the travel experience—reducing costs and wait times while enhancing guidance and overall satisfaction for all travelers.
