Last week, a Chinese woman was the victim of a robbery that netted $2,000 and other valuables while she was walking along 8th Avenue in Brooklyn. The incident, which involved two men on a scooter brandishing a gun, is currently under investigation by local authorities.
According to the NYPD’s 72nd precinct, the robbery occurred on Tuesday, October 1, at approximately 9:10 PM. The 48-year-old victim was outside a residential building at 760 59th Street when she was approached by the suspects on a black scooter. One of the men dismounted, displayed a black firearm, and demanded her belongings. The police reported that the assailants seized the victim’s keys, several credit cards, and $2,000 in cash.
Witnesses say that before they fled, the robbers forcibly pushed the woman, causing her to lose her balance and fall onto the street. She sustained injuries to her head, wrist, and shoulder in the process. The suspects then quickly sped away on their scooter, heading west on 59th Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they conducted a thorough search of the area; however, the robbers had already vanished. As of now, no arrests have been made, and law enforcement has not released any images or videos of the suspects.
