Xinjiang Xinyuan County Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference held in Beijing
On October 26, a promotional event titled “Pearl of the Grassland, Beautiful New Source – Xinjiang Xinyuan County Cultural and Tourism Promotion Conference, National Photography Exhibition, and Agricultural Products Fair” took place in Beijing.
In an interview, Tang Chaowen, the deputy secretary of the Xinyuan County Party Committee and head of the Yangzhou Aid Xinjiang Working Group, highlighted the county’s stunning natural scenery and rich cultural resources. “The purpose of this event is to introduce more Beijingers to Xinyuan County, facilitate tourism exchanges between our regions, and achieve mutual development,” he stated.
One of the standout features of the event was the inaugural National Photography Exhibition of the Nalati Apricot Blossom Festival. The exhibition showcased works that captured the four seasons, local customs, and cultural heritage of Xinyuan from unique perspectives and with exquisite skill. This photography initiative, launching in March 2024, has attracted participation from photographers across more than 20 provincial regions in China.
Xinyuan County, located in the heart of the Tianshan Mountains in western Xinjiang, is a significant agricultural and pastoral production base in the Ili River Valley. It is known for its 30,000 acres of wild apple orchards and 70,000 acres of wild apricot groves, earning it titles such as “the world’s apple genetic resource center” and “China’s wild fruit gene bank.” Furthermore, Xinyuan is recognized as Xinjiang’s “hometown of liquor,” with the popular Shao Er Ba La Ke liquor originating from this area, which also hosts the region’s first liquor culture museum.
At the agricultural products fair, the free tasting zone drew many visitors eager to sample specialties from Xinyuan, including honey, dairy products, and nuts.
During the event, tourism promoter Du Hongyan provided guests with an overview of Xinyuan’s tourism assets, highlighting a range of attractive travel routes that span natural landscapes, folk culture, and ecological wellness. To draw in more visitors, Xinyuan also announced a series of winter travel incentives, including discounted entrance fees for scenic spots and hotel accommodation.
Shijianzhong, vice president and secretary-general of the Beijing Culture and Tourism Association, expressed his commitment to facilitating collaboration between Beijing’s travel businesses and those in Xinyuan County to develop high-quality tourism products and jointly enhance the region’s tourism sector.
