On October 26, a ceremony titled “Celebrating Our Homeland: Dreaming for the Future” was held in Beijing to honor the exemplary young individuals of the capital in the new era. The Beijing Publishing Group presented copies of the book “I Love Beijing: A Collection of Outstanding Works from the 2024 Global Youth Writing Contest” to 60 of these remarkable youths. Additionally, they announced the opening of the registration for the 2025 “I Love Beijing” global writing contest.
“I Love Beijing: A Collection of Outstanding Works from the 2024 Global Youth Writing Contest” is an initiative undertaken by the Beijing Publishing Group that features exceptional articles and artworks from the 2024 contest curated into a single volume. Notably, Qiao Ye, the vice president of the Beijing Writers Association and a recipient of the Mao Dun Literature Prize, has taken on the role of chief editor. Within the pages, young writers express their affection for Beijing through various lenses—its rich historical culture, natural beauty, vibrant street life, and imaginative visions for the future. Their heartfelt narratives depict the multifaceted essence of Beijing, presenting it to the world as an ancient yet open and innovative city.
The global writing contest for “I Love Beijing” will continue in 2025, with the registration period running until the end of May 2025. A panel of judges will review all submissions, selecting the best entries to be compiled into a published volume by the Beijing Publishing Group. Participants can follow the “Jingbian Theme” WeChat account for further details on this year’s contest announcements.
