Anhui has built 2,633 township-level emergency material reserve warehouses
On October 15, during a press conference organized by the Anhui Provincial Government’s Information Office, Hu Ming, the Deputy Director of the Anhui Emergency Management Department, shared notable advancements in emergency management across the province. He announced, “We have established 2,633 township-level reserve warehouses and 15,187 village-level reserve warehouses, amassing a total of 10.44 million flood prevention materials, 844,000 livelihood supplies, and 495,000 rescue items. This structure ensures that we can respond effectively and utilize our resources when it matters most.”
The press conference was part of a series focusing on “Deepening Reforms to Promote High-Quality Development.” Hu emphasized the province’s commitment to enhancing grassroots emergency management, as well as the foundational work and system development in this area.
In addition to bolstering emergency management support, Anhui has amplified its grassroots emergency rescue capabilities. Hu elaborated that by leveraging specialized rescue teams for fire response, flood control, and forest fire prevention, the province has combined efforts from local law enforcement, enterprises, and social rescue forces. This integration has led to the establishment of 1,612 township emergency rescue teams with a total of 58,000 members. Furthermore, 1,096 firefighting workstations have been set up in townships, equipping them with 6,882 fire safety personnel.
For instance, in Fuyang’s Funan County, the team strategically deployed ten specialized emergency firefighting units across the county to cover all 28 townships and economic development zones. This approach ensures that emergency services can reach remote villages within just 15 minutes after an alert.
Anhui is also actively piloting grassroots emergency management capability building in areas like Taohua Town of Feixi County, Dashu Town of Quanjiao County, and Liqiao Town of Xuanzhou District. The province has adopted innovative methods, such as the “case study education method,” to enhance safety awareness and education in these communities.
On the enterprise safety training front, Anhui is prioritizing comprehensive safety production education and training for all employees, enforcing robust safety training assessments. A substantial 23,500 key personnel from high-risk industries and 306,000 specialized operators have undergone training. The province has also launched the “Ten Thousand Enterprises Building Safety” initiative, engaging 55,000 companies, with 19,000 business leaders, 57,600 safety management personnel, and frontline employees participating in safety programs.
