Busan, South Korea holds first -October Celebration-
The inaugural “Busan-type” comprehensive exhibition project, referred to as the “October Festival,” unfolded from October 1 to October 8 in Busan, South Korea. This lively event showcased a total of 17 activities spanning six major areas: music, film, culture, cuisine, industry, and technology.
On the evening of October 4, Haeundae Beach hosted a spectacular outdoor concert that drew in both local residents and tourists. The Busan City Government highlighted that this year’s festival, themed “Winds of October,” featured a diverse lineup of programs, including the Busan International Film Festival, the Busan International Rock Festival, the Haeundae Good Night Music Concert, the Busan International Food Expo, and an AI Data Symposium. Projections indicate that nearly 450,000 visitors from about 120 countries are expected to attend.
Over the course of eight days, the October Festival represents Busan’s creative effort to blend culture, technology, and industry on an international stage. Iconic locations such as Haeundae, Gwangalli, and BEXCO (Busan Exhibition and Convention Center) will be transformed into festive hubs, aiming to establish Busan as Asia’s largest integrated festival city and bolster its competitiveness on the global front.
