On October 21, 2023, in an announcement from the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone Administration, it was revealed that Tianjin Cargo Airlines has officially launched the “Zhengzhou-Taiyuan-Almaty” flight route. This new service will operate two flights a week, facilitating bilateral trade between China’s central region and Central Asia.

A B737 cargo aircraft from Tianjin Cargo Airlines took off from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport and landed at Taiyuan Wusu International Airport, fully loaded with general and e-commerce goods. After a brief stop, the flight continued on to Almaty International Airport, Kazakhstan’s largest city, covering approximately 3,700 kilometers in around five hours. The launch of this route marks a significant development for Tianjin Cargo Airlines.

Almaty serves as a major transportation hub, and the new route effectively leverages the international connectivity of both airports, enhancing access to global markets and expanding the import-export air corridor between central China and Kazakhstan.

With the introduction of this route, Tianjin Cargo Airlines aims to accelerate the establishment of a global air freight network, positioning the region as a competitive hub for international cargo transport.

A representative from the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone highlighted that in recent years, the cargo aviation sector in the area has been rapidly developing, with multiple domestic routes launched and efforts to broaden the international air freight market, thus injecting new momentum into the economic growth of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Looking ahead, the Free Trade Zone plans to maintain its commitment to safety, efficiency, and green development, pushing cargo airlines to reach new heights by enhancing safety management and optimizing flight routes.
