On the 19th, local time, the Israeli military launched airstrikes on Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, resulting in numerous casualties. Survivors, speaking on the 20th, described the victims of the attacks as unarmed Palestinian civilians. After enduring various hardships, they sought refuge in what they believed to be a safer area, only to fall victim to the military offensive.

In a video shared by CCTV News, one survivor, Ahmed, recounted the terrifying moment during the attack: “We were sleeping when, around midnight, we suddenly felt the ground shake. Debris from the ceiling fell onto us. Hearing the screams of women and children, we rushed outside and saw that our neighbors had become targets of the airstrikes. Tons of explosives rained down on the nearby residential areas, where only civilians and displaced individuals resided. All those who died here were children, women, and displaced persons who had fled from other regions, seeking shelter in what they thought was a safer place.”

Reports indicate that many of the injured from this attack have been transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, including a significant number of women and children. A child who survived the attack was left visibly terrified as he faced the medical staff.

When asked by a healthcare worker about his friend Sherif, the child responded, “Where is Sherif?” The medical staff reassured him that Sherif was safe upstairs, urging him not to be afraid. The child then expressed a simple but poignant desire: “I want to eat.” The healthcare worker replied, “What do you want to eat? Are you hungry?” To which the child replied, “Yes.”
