Cultural China Tour丨-Dunhuang’s Daughter- Chang Shana- Chinese fashion must have Chinese aesthetics
At just a teenager, she followed her father from the comforts of life in France to the dusty sands of Dunhuang. Her first meal consisted of a bowl of noodles, a bowl of salt, and a bowl of vinegar—a far cry from what she was accustomed to. Amidst the stark desert, the stunning murals of the Mogao Caves became her companions, shaping a lifelong passion that she has dedicated herself to protecting. Now at the remarkable age of 94, she tirelessly shares the stories of Dunhuang.
As we enter the “Blossoms of Dunhuang: Chang Shana’s Eight Decades in Art and Design,” we witness the legacy of this woman, often referred to as the “Daughter of Dunhuang,” and her deep connection to the region over nearly a century.
