A commemorative event was held in Shenyang to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Volunteers’ mission to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea.

On October 25, an event titled “Inheritance of the Great Victory Spirit” was held at the Shenyang Anti-American Aid Korea Martyrs Cemetery to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army’s deployment to Korea. Organized by the Shenyang Municipal Veterans Affairs Bureau, the Communist Youth League of Shenyang, and the Shenyang Education Bureau, the ceremony aimed to honor the sacrifices of the fallen heroes.

Attendees stood in solemn silence before the martyrs’ monument, paying their respects with a moment of silence and presenting floral tributes as a heartfelt recognition of the sacrifices made by those resting there.

Wu Dawei, a passionate speaker from the red propaganda group, vividly recounted the dramatic history of the Korean War, transporting the audience back to that era of heroic deeds. The Starlight Youth Theater brought the text of “The Ice and Snow of Changjin Lake” to life on stage, powerfully depicting the grandeur and tragedy of the Changjin Lake battle through a series of impactful scenes. Meanwhile, the Pearl River Five Schools Choir moved the crowd with an emotional rendition of the song “As Desired,” expressing profound love and loyalty to the motherland through its touching melody and lyrics.

Following these performances, participants approached the martyrs’ monument with reverence, paying their respects and laying flowers at the graves of the heroes. Veteran soldiers, young volunteers, and youth representatives shared stories of heroism at the gravesite, transforming their narrative into a collective remembrance of not just the heroes’ sacrifices but also the importance of preserving history for future generations.

Inside the Anti-American Aid Korea Memorial Hall, attendees followed the guide through a historical corridor, gaining deeper insights into the heroic deeds of the Chinese Volunteer Army and the war’s significant lasting impact.

October 25 marks the anniversary of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army’s deployment to Korea. Seventy-four years ago, brave soldiers crossed the Yalu River under the banner of defending their homeland, forging an indelible spiritual monument with their iron will and inscribing an epic of heroism with their lives and sacrifice.
